Notice of Referendum Vote: Tuesday, May 26, 2020
With the development of the Madison property, a community approval process must be observed. According to the LPFN Land Code Sections 12.1, 12.1 (a), and 12.1 (b) “Community approval is needed for any land use plan and to grant an interest or licenses in any First Nation land exceeding a term of 35 years.”
Further, the Financial Administration Law 2020 Section 96 “The Council must establish policies or procedures or give direction for
“(a) The provision of information to members of the First Nation respecting capital projects; or
(b) the involvement of members of the First Nation in consideration of capital projects.”
Long Plain First Nation tribal citizens will be asked to cast their vote on the following proposed projects:
- Wyndam Garden Hotel – Madison Reserve
- The Keeshkeemaquah Truck Stop – Travel Centre

- Petro-Canada Gas Bar: Madison Reserve, Winnipeg
